I've had an exciting few weeks! I turned one on June 14, had a first birthday party on June 16 (where I had birthday cake!,) survived some really bad storms that destroyed our patio table, had ANOTHER birthday party on June 30, had my first ice cream come and went camping with Mom and Dad over the week of the 4th of July.
Whew. It's been exhausting.
Anyway, while I was camping, I had some great adventures! I went swimming, played on the playground equipment, got tons of bug bites, went on walks and....MEET A TURTLE! It was awesome. I had never seen anything like a turtle before. I wanted to keep it, but Mom said no...mostly because she doesn't know what turtles eat. I wanted to hold it, but I had to settle for touching its paws. It was so funny looking. Mom tried to get a good picture of me with my turtle, but the turtle got scared, and I got distracted by the truck pulling into the campsite behind me.
Since Mom wouldn't let me keep the turtle, I tried catching a pet fly. Those stinkers are hard to catch - always flying away right before I could grab them!
I also practiced my modeling poses while I was camping. I have a lot of good faces - they should cast me in a remake of Zoolander. As I am told over and over, I am "very, very good looking."
This is my godfather pose:
| Don't tell me your innocent. You fingered me to the Mom - she now suspects I was eating dirt and chasing bugs. We have a special way of dealing with snitches like you. |
Here's my tentative, vulnerable look:
Here's my attitudinal, defiant pose:
As you probably guessed, some of best faces come while I am eating and immediately after - especially when I'm dining on spaghetti. Here are a few more classic shots:
Spaghetti while camping is extra messy, so Mom asked me to share the pictures of my very messy belly:
