Family Visit

Hi everyone!

A few weeks back Grams, Aunt Alissa, Mamaw and Great Aunt Bug came out to visit me. They also spent some time with Mom and Dad, but I think we all know that the real reason they made the drive was to spend time with me!

Mamaw sat with me while I played with my walker on
Mom and Dad's really, really, really ugly floor
We had lots and lots of fun. Aunt Alissa even brought her puppy, Finnigan. He's a lot bigger than my kitties and plays a little rougher but I still liked him a lot - even when he hurdled over my head and scared me so much I crawled to my mom to cry on her lap.

I didn't know what to think of Finn at first. It took me a little while
to realize he was different from my cat brothers.
"Hmm. You sure are a funny looking kitty."

We all went shopping and out to dinner together, where I was a very well behaved little baby. Grams and Aunt Alissa even got to babysit for me while Mom and Dad went to a wedding. They couldn't believe how much a little guy like me can squirm...especially during a diaper change!

Mamaw even bought me a really fun toy - a blue elephant that spits out balls! I loved it immediately and still play with it all the time. The plastic balls are really yummy, too and my cat brothers and I take turns chasing them around the living room.

Whoa! Did you see how high the elephant spit the ball?!

I rock my bedhead like no other.

In addition to the recent family visit, Landon's been having a blast these past few weeks. He is trying to talk and can say, "kitty" "yeah!" "uh-oh!" in addition to "ma-ma" and "da-da." He also has been channeling his favorite animal and makes elephant noises almost non-stop. It will probably be just another few weeks before he takes off walking on his own - he's been doing a great job of walking between me and Brian and even took 5 unassisted steps the other day! The boy is definitely growing and getting stronger.

Cranky Kid Over Cracker Catastrophe

Ever since his vaccination on Friday, Landon's been a bit cranky. When something unexpected happens, he flips out. He knocked over the vacuum cleaner and promptly started wailing. The nose of the his elephant humidifier fell off while he was playing with it and he immediately started crying. The lid to his toy box fell out of his closet and he instantly clouded up and cried.

So when he reached for his Goldfish crackers and they rained down onto the floor, Landon was inconsolable. All those Goldfish laying lifeless on the floor was such a tragedy that Landon had a meltdown of nuclear proportions. Observe:

Landon aced his 9 month well visit!

Landon had his 9 month well visit this morning and he is doing phenomenally. He weighs 20 pounds 5 ounces and is 28 1/2 inches long. The doctor was so impressed with his development that she said, "Your son is a 12 month old trapped in a 9 month old's body." So happy that Little Man is doing well and is ahead of the curve!

Plus, the doctor said to start transitioning him completely away from baby food, so we will be experimenting with new table food in the coming weeks...and that means more pictures of Landon pigging out and making a mess!

Me make a mess? Mom doesn't know what she's talking about.
I haven't made a mess a day in my life!

Say cheese!

Landon was all smiles this morning as I was trying to get ready for work. He's already working his charm - I think he knows that he's pretty much irresistible!

Landon also thought that this morning was a good opportunity to practice his escape tactics. As I was drying my hair, he somehow managed to crawl out of his blue chair. When I turned around, his head was resting on the floor (hey, breaking out of restraints takes a lot of work! He needed a quick rest.), and one leg was still entangled in the straps of the seat. However, he was thrilled - as I quickly got down next to him, I realized my son was laughing hysterically at his new-found freedom. It took a minute to fully untangle him from the mess he created, but it's clear that we need to find a new solution to occupy him in the mornings while Mom and Dad get ready for work. The chair just ain't cutting it anymore.

The countdown is on!

Hi Everyone!

I am super-duper excited because on Thursday, Grams, Mamaw and Aunt Alissa are coming to visit. PLUS, Great Aunt Lynn will be here on Friday. It will be an exciting weekend - especially since Mom and Dad have a wedding on Friday night, so Grams, Mamaw and Aunts Alissa and Bug get to babysit me! I think I am more than enough baby to spread between four people, don't you? Well, as long as no-one plays "hog the baby", that is.

I don't know about you...

...but I find my dinner tastes much better when I smear it all over my face.
